Roger Norman starts 19th in a field of 23 Trophy Trucks. Co-driving with Norman was Eric Brannstrom of Las Vegas. After the first lap the Norman Motorsports #8 was running in 4th with no issues. On lap two they were leading the race. On lap three they lost some flapper valves in the front shocks and later bottomed out at 110 mph causing the floor board to push up into the throttle pedal, breaking the cable. They had a long pit stop to change the cable and pound out the floorboard. The #8 Trophy Truck ended lap three in 7th position and went on to finish 3rd on lap four. Norman drove the entire race because of Larry Roeseler's recent back injuries.
